Mrs Darwin
All About Me...
My name is Mrs Darwin. I’ve been teaching at Collierley for four years. My mum knew I would grow up to be a teacher as I loved playing teachers when I was young. I would have all my dolls and teddies sat as if they were on the carpet and I would be taking the register with my book and red pen.
My Story
I’ve been a teacher for 9 years. My first job was in a primary school in South Moor. Where I taught in Years 6, 3 and 4. Before I became a teacher, I was a teaching assistant at a school in Chester-le- Street for 4 years. I love being in school and being around children.
My favourite subjects to teach are English, Maths and Science. I love reading and telling stories and working out maths problems. In science, I like experimenting. I have mixed chemicals to make volcanic eruptions in Chemistry and in Physics I enjoyed testing materials to make an effective parachute.
Outside of school I like to keep fit. My son and I often go bike riding. I like to go riding around Chester Park. My son won’t let us go past Costa without going in for a coffee and a Bakewell Tart.
I live with my husband, Mr Darwin, and my son, Ronnie, who is 5 years old. As a family we like to go on walks. We have hunted for the Gruffalo in the woods and we have been on a bear hunt! One day we found him in his cave and had to run all the way home.
