Governor
Miss Clare Gleghorn
I have lived in Dipton my whole life and feel like a respected part of the community who people can talk to. I also have a daughter in Collierley Primary school and we enjoy shopping trips, dancing and taking our new puppy on walks.
I have a BA (Hons) degree in social work, which is where I began my journey of striving towards making a positive impact on our children. I have also undertaken various qualifications since working in Collierley that have further developed my knowledge and drive in ensuring our children can thrive.
I’ve had the pleasure of working at Collierley since September 2017 and have previously held the post of parent governor for the past 4 years. As a parent governor, I’m keen to ensure that the views of the parents, staff, governors and most importantly the children are shared and valued and I am very passionate and dedicated to the range of roles I have already undertaken. I see my role to be a combination of challenge and support to the school leadership team with the ultimate aim of driving up standards. Being a school governor has given me a fantastic opportunity to have an impact on education and positively influence children’s lives.
I am highly committed to ensuring that our children receive the best possible education, through a range of stimulating and exciting experiences, this I believe will equip them well for their adult lives ahead and high expectations are at the heart of everything that I do.
I recognise the importance of providing a safe, caring, supportive and effective environment that brings opportunities for each child to make those essential steps in life. Working in schools has enabled me to recognise how important it is that our children leave equipped with the knowledge, skills and moral foundations to enable them to achieve and succeed in later life. I hope to utilise my skills and experience in education and working with parents and the community to support the Governing body and the staff in fulfilling our aspirations for the future.
